Most charge connections in the UK are Type 2 however Type 1 vehicles still exist. A Type 1 connector has 5 pins and generally do not have locking mechanisms. Type 2 connectors have 7 pins and have in built locking mechanisms. Most domestic premises in the UK will only have single phase electrical supply available and will be limited to 3.7kW or 7kW chargers, whereas commercial premises will most likely have 3 phase electrical supply and can have chargers up to 22kW. If you are unsure of what you need please get in touch and we would be happy to help.
Although the chargers we install are of excellent quality and certainly robust and the installation itself is carried out by our qualified staff an EV charger is still a piece of electrical equipment. The outside can be wiped over with a cloth to keep it clean as the charger itself has a water resistance rating but we do recommend that the charger is given a health check annually to make sure that the internal wiring and the plug sections of the system are all free from wear and tear damage. The charger itself is placed outside so damage could be accelerated. Please do not open the unit up yourself, the internals of a charger require high voltages and should be looked at by a qualified professional such as an Evoltiq installation engineer. Give us a call to find out more.
The best place to put a charging point is as close to where it is needed as possible without added cost and without creating a trip hazard. Likely this will be next to a driveway or parking space that is owned by the owner of the car. This is not always possible but the team at Evoltiq can help you decide where to place your charger in the most efficient and cost effective spot.
Payment is taken via a Payment link via email or by BACS with an Evoltiq payment reference. Payment is made at the time of booking in your installation.
Your charging unit is paid for and ordered for delivery at the point of booking. We can refund the cost of the installation if required but we would be unable to refund the cost of the unit. Please do get in touch though as we may be able to take the unit back with a restocking fee or offer a different solution.
We strive to make sure that this is never the case. If you are unhappy though contact your Evoltiq representative directly and let us know. Our work is guaranteed and everything is tested and signed off as per laws and guidelines for electrical installations.
All EV Chargers that we install are rigorously tested however, there are occasional manufacturer faults as with all items. If this occurs then it is best to contact the manufacturer directly. All Units have a Manufacturer’s warranty with them so rest assured you are covered when you purchase the charging unit.
EVHS scheme for domestic Home owners ended on 31st March 2022 so this is no longer available. However there has been a change to the scheme to allow for applications from People living in rental properties and also Homeowners who live in Flats. For more information please go to the Office for Zero Emission Vehicle webpage or give our friendly staff a call.
